A measely 5 in quant. rest were ok though. No hopes.

Here comes the Simcat 10 results, as expected I don’t clear the cutoffs.

Next week is a break and after that we have tests every weekend till the CAT. Lets see what happens.

A low after the high. Yes I did it again. Looks like a pretty bad test after seeing some comments and scores. Didn’t feel so bad when I was doing the paper. Just had the feeling that I lost time in the starting 30 minutes. Maybe thats what did me in. The last Sunday break coming up next weekend. Hope to have improved performances from then on. Also need to be on the lookout for SNAP forms. This is a good time to be doing MBA or maybe not. You don’t know whether the markets would have improved in the two years from now or not, but this gives you a argument that conditions like this make the requirement of management skills in all the employees mandatory and those with the edge will do better and help their companies do better.

And yes it now seems I love this journey more than the destination. I don’t want to.

Simcat 9 and …

Wrote the simcat this Sunday. By the looks of it, this could be the best yet. Againg hoping to clear all the cut offs. By the way, matching up with IMS solutions gives me 74 marks in total. (DI: 27.5, VA: 22.5, QA: 24). Quant score looks good if I put aside that fact that I put almost 80 minutes in that stuff. I am really getting worse in QA. I need some advice, some help now. Do I practice the sections I can do and try to do better in them ? Do I study new sections so that I can try and work some of the easier stuff that comes from those sections? The first one looks saner but section one looks better because in my view on CAT day, it will be all about picking up the easier ones as the tougher ones will be .. well tough. Anyways what still gives me the edge in the writtens is the VA. Even though I am not particularly good in that, my reading speed does help me a lot. Looks like reading all those novels put paid. 

Coming to another question, I still don’t know why I should do an MBA except that it might be 2 years of college fun again and you can try and get out of the software mela, but going by the rate at which MBA’s are being awarded nowadays , the country will soon have an overflow of MBA’s , but let hope the great Indian Growth Story is intact. Really !

Now here is wishing me that I clear all the cutoffs this time and get a rank. WoW.

Another Simcat, another new experience. This time again we reached around half an hour late and according to the new rules in force, we were not allowed to write the exam. We get the papers although. Lets see when I get the time to write the test under “simulated CAT enviornment” if such a thing is feasible.

Missed. Was sleeping soundly in flat. Catching up on lost sleep of Friday and with Ankur not around to push, the inertia proved too much. Lets see if we can get the papers from IMS.

And again I fail to clear the cut offs. I had hoped that I will be and I just missed by a whisker.

So near yet so far. And given that I have not studied anything in the interim, I have only one way to improve my performance in the coming test, by being more selective in English and giving some more time to Quant. Lets see if I am able to do that or not. More on this after the test on Sunday.
